Ruthie and Adam~ Engagement Photos

I have been so excited about working with this couple from the very start! When they first reached out, I learned that their wedding venue was one I absolutely LOVED, but had only worked at one other time and wasn’t sure I would again, because it isn’t real close so that was already exciting. Then as I chatted with them at our “get to know you” consultation, I learned what a fun, yet relaxed and cool couple they were. I absolutely am dying over their dreamy vintage style. I mean that vintage dress is EVERYTHING! Can you even imagine how gorgeous their wedding day will be?

….oh, and I made a few new friends after this session who let me grab a few shots of them too!

Stallman Family~ FULL family session

I know I say it every time, but family sessions where everyone gets together- including family members who live out of town, are so special to me. We live in a different state from our family and try to occasionally get photos when we are home visiting for holidays, so I know how rare and important these sessions are and I also realize that I am not just capturing photos, I am capturing very treasured memories of everyone being together. I usually call these sessions of parents with their grown children, spouses, and grandchildren “extended family” mostly because I never know what else to call them, but that never feels right. I think of “extended family” as distant relatives that aren’t very close and that couldn’t be further from the truth with the clients I am shooting when I do these sessions. So this time I decided FULL family was a better description. I can always tell when everyone is together it just feels FULL or complete. This family was no exception and I loved photographing them while they enjoyed their time together.

Gabby D. ~ High School Senior

Some years I have so many High School Senior Sessions I can barely squeeze them in. This year was full of weddings instead but my High School Senior Sessions were all about QUALITY over quantity. I may not have shot as many as past years, but the ones I did have were outstanding! Gabby’s was no exception. It doesn’t hurt when your clients are friends of course. My daughter, Marissa and I had a girl’s day prior to Gabby’s session and then she came along with me and we had a blast hanging out with gorgeous Gabby and her mama (who is also my friend). They not only provided me with a beautiful model, but the MOST gorgeous location which was complete with a rocky waterfall (minus the water, lol), lake and the cutest vintage Triumph. Of course we had to sneak in a little session of Gabby at the place where she spends the most time too. This session was a little bittersweet because it’s hard to think about Gabby being gone next year, but we CAN’T WAIT to cheer her on as she competes for the Florida Gators!!!

Gabby E ~ High School Senior

Not all that long ago, if a client would have suggested we do a High School Senior Session ENTIRELY INDOORS I would have definitely had an anxiety attack. The idea of having to master artificial lighting. Not having an interesting background setting, but instead having to create one. It was terrifying. Thankfully, the last couple of years I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and eventually felt confident enough with shooting indoors to open my studio! So when Gabby decided she loved the simple look of studio portraits for her Senior Photos, not only was I unafraid, but I was EXCITED and even recommended we use a second indoor location at the gym where she spends most of her days.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that she is such a beautiful girl which makes my job incredibly easy. She’s not just a pretty face though, although she is a “class of 2023” graduate, she actually finished up with school a semester early!!! She’s one smart cookie and also one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I know her future is so very bright and I can’t wait to see all that it holds for her.

Sienna~High School Senior

If you were to ask me what the ingredients to a “perfect session” would be, I would say: perfect weather, beautiful background and colors, a client with their own amazing sense of style and one who can relax in front of the camera. In other words, I would describe Sienna’s High School Senior Session. This was one of those sessions where I felt like we were creating true art. She is such a sweet and beautiful girl and I wish her so much success in the future.
