The “W” Wedding

This location is one that I have driven past on many roadtrips, but never thought I would actually shoot a wedding there and it finally happened! I knew it was going to be absolutely beautiful, not only because of the beautiful venue at les bourgeois winery, but because of the couple. They absolutely rocked their engagement session so I knew their wedding would be no different! The hardest part of the whole thing was choosing photos to share in this post…which is always a good problem to have!

BACK TO SCHOOL!

This year I did a BACK TO SCHOOL mini session day at the studio. Mini Sessions always seem to be hit or miss for me and although I only had two kiddos take advantage of this great deal (which is too bad because if your school photos were anything like my son’s…these were way better), they were absolute ROCKSTARS and made it all worthwhile!

On the fence about whether or not to offer this mini session again next year, so if you are interested let me know!

Marissa Senior

You don’t even know how hard it was typing the title to this post. This Senior Session hits a little different because it’s MY BABY! I know you hear how fast time flies when you have kids all the time, but once you have a Senior, you REALLY feel it.

So we have a bit of an advantage when it comes to Senior Photos because we kind of have been planning and discussing ideas and then when we both happen to have a free moment (which is actually pretty rare), we take off and do it. So far we have done two sessions but we have more in the works that I’m really looking forward to. My goal this year though is to stay on top of things and get them done early so I can ENJOY this Senior year with my girl without stressing about everything I need to do so it feels good to know that no matter what happens we have some Senior Photos already.

One of the things we love most about living in the Kansas City area is that we have it all! We have kind of captured that in Marissa’s locations so far. The first one was at Blue Springs Lake and I love the dramatic nature scenery here. In contrast, we hit downtown KC for a fun Urban Session. Can’t wait to share our future sessions (and maybe by then I will be ready to write a little more about how amazing my girl is and what an honor it has been to be her mom through all of these school years).

The Hughes

This couple took advantage of my 12 days of Christmas sale last year and purchased a session to use later (and saved some money!…smart!!!). They became members of my “backyard club” when we were deciding on a location. I have written about backyard sessions before and how they never seem to disappoint and their backyard was no exception! They have such a lovely little deck with a beautiful “woodsy” view and even a little path into the woods just down the road. They were just the absolute sweetest couple and I’m so glad we captured their love for each other.

Fun Shoot with Friends!

So important photographer rule is to always keep gorgeous friends. I needed a model for some dresses from my “Client Closet” and knew my long-time friend Lauren was my girl for the job. Not only is she obviously beautiful, but she also has a beautiful family and lives on beautiful property! We had a lot of fun with this and I’m happy she got some great family photos out of it too! Next time we will have to make sure her equally gorgeous daughter is around to join in!
