Like Senior Photos, but for younger kiddos!

BSSHS Cheerleaders!

This session has been in the works for a long time. Jayden’s (one of the cheerleaders) mom and I are good friends and she showed me an inspiration photo for this idea a long time ago. I was so nervous to cut and tear the paper and figure out how to make everything look just right, but I think it turned out so great! It doesn’t hurt when you have gorgeous models of course! I think these “torn paper” sessions would be so much fun for all kinds of occasions!

Snowy Senior Session at “The Nelson”

I have been busy this winter and LOVE it! Even more fun is the fact that not only are clients scheduling studio sessions, but I am still getting clients who want to get out “on location” this winter!

There is no specific answer when people ask me what my “dream client” would look like. As a matter of fact I don’t usually know the answer to that question until I show up to a session and there they are. I can tell you it almost always involves someone who is creative in some way though, so when Karinton said she was wearing her “Senior jeans” that she painted herself, I knew she would fit into the category (and it didn’t hurt that she was a beautiful and super photogenic girl!). Even better she was so sweet and fun. Karinton plans to major in Criminal Justice in college and I just know her future is very bright!

Sibling Studio Session

There’s no bad time to update those frames and get some new photos of your kiddos. They grow and change SOOO quickly! I had so much fun with these three visiting the studio for some sibling photos. I snuck in a few props for the SENIOR as well. We already took her official Senior Photos outdoors in the fall, but figured we might as well give her some studio options too.

Mya Senior

At the beginning of her session, Mya thought she A) Wasn’t photogenic and B) Needed lots of help posing. I have a lot of proof that says otherwise. So much proof actually that even after lots of “narrowing down” I still ended up with 99 photos in her gallery from just a 1 hour session with 5 different outfits and moving between different locations.

Gorgeous and stylish girls that aren’t afraid of getting out in nature like Mya, make my job easy and so much fun! She’s more than just a pretty face though…she enjoys softball, hunting, fishing, drawing and painting and is passionate about her sport, family and faith. I had a great time with her and her mom and absolutely love all of her images that we created together.

Liz Senior

When I show up to a Senior Session and meet a client for the first time, I never know what to expect as far as their comfort level posing and being in front of the camera. I always have some “go-to” poses and prompts to suggest to help give us both an idea of what is most natural for them and fits their personality. Even if I give the exact same instructions to different people, the result is usually very different. Liz looked natural and great in front of the camera no matter what I asked of her. I often kind of joke and say something like “Look off into the distance like you are just hanging out in the woods in your favorite clothes thinking about life”. When I look at the images from Liz’s session, she totally sells that and makes you believe that’s exactly what was happening and that me and my camera just happened to stumble across her. I love her cool, artistic vibe and think it definitely comes through in her photos. She would love to study illustration and creative writing so maybe she was thinking about what to create next? I think if that doesn’t work out she could have a future at modeling or acting though, don’t you?
