Like Senior Photos, but for younger kiddos!

Whitney “School” Photos

Gosh I have smart clients! Whitney’s mom wasn’t thrilled with her school photos this year (shocking, right?). So she reached out to see if we could do a little micro-mini session and get some good ones. Of course! What a great idea! I am always willing to find ways to meet my clients’ needs. If you don’t see a package that I offer that fits those needs, reach out and tell me what you want and I’ll do my best to create something that works! I love how these turned out. My own son may not be as excited about this idea though because I think I’m going to get him into the studio for some better “school photos” now too.

The Grace Family~ Studio Family Session

First-time clients are so much fun! This family was such a pleasure to meet and work with… so sweet and SO photogenic! Little guys weren’t too sure that this was a “smiley” situation and maybe thought we were all a little crazy jumping around an making noises at them, but they didn’t cry a single bit either and were so good, so I call that a SUCCESS! And what beautiful big sisters they have! So glad I got to meet this family and hope to see them lots more in the future!

The Haines Family ~Studio Session

As a general rule of thumb, good photos aren’t cheap and cheap photos aren’t good. There is a reason some photographers charge more than others. It’s expensive to run a legal business and provide the very best services to your clients. Professional gear, licenses, websites, taxes, studio rent, permits, backrops…whew! I always try to stay in the most affordable range I can because I think everyone deserves great photos, but obviously I have to make some money too. So whenever I can come up with an event or sale to help people save money and get great photos, I jump on it. This year I tried a “12 days of Christmas” special, featuring a different great deal every day leading up to Christmas. It was so much fun and so many people took advantage of the amazing deals, including this super fun and gorgeous family.

Their oldest daughter, Caroline was a gymnast with my own daughter, Marissa years ago…but it doesn’t really seem that long ago. They are such a sweet and fun-loving family and it was so nice to spend some time with them in the studio over the holidays for this great session.

Gabby D. ~ High School Senior

Some years I have so many High School Senior Sessions I can barely squeeze them in. This year was full of weddings instead but my High School Senior Sessions were all about QUALITY over quantity. I may not have shot as many as past years, but the ones I did have were outstanding! Gabby’s was no exception. It doesn’t hurt when your clients are friends of course. My daughter, Marissa and I had a girl’s day prior to Gabby’s session and then she came along with me and we had a blast hanging out with gorgeous Gabby and her mama (who is also my friend). They not only provided me with a beautiful model, but the MOST gorgeous location which was complete with a rocky waterfall (minus the water, lol), lake and the cutest vintage Triumph. Of course we had to sneak in a little session of Gabby at the place where she spends the most time too. This session was a little bittersweet because it’s hard to think about Gabby being gone next year, but we CAN’T WAIT to cheer her on as she competes for the Florida Gators!!!

Gabby E ~ High School Senior

Not all that long ago, if a client would have suggested we do a High School Senior Session ENTIRELY INDOORS I would have definitely had an anxiety attack. The idea of having to master artificial lighting. Not having an interesting background setting, but instead having to create one. It was terrifying. Thankfully, the last couple of years I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and eventually felt confident enough with shooting indoors to open my studio! So when Gabby decided she loved the simple look of studio portraits for her Senior Photos, not only was I unafraid, but I was EXCITED and even recommended we use a second indoor location at the gym where she spends most of her days.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that she is such a beautiful girl which makes my job incredibly easy. She’s not just a pretty face though, although she is a “class of 2023” graduate, she actually finished up with school a semester early!!! She’s one smart cookie and also one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I know her future is so very bright and I can’t wait to see all that it holds for her.
