The “F” Family

The idea of getting family photos taken doesn’t sound like fun to everyone. Getting the session scheduled, coordinating outfits for everyone, bribing (or threatening) the kids to smile and worrying if they are throughout the session. But guess what? I want everyone to HAVE FUN at their session. Photos of people who are actually happy are always better than photos of people who are stressed or miserable but trying to pretend to be happy! I sure had fun with this family. There was secret telling, exploring the woods, rides on dad’s shoulders, running through the tall grass and lots of giggles. I’m so glad this sweet family has not only happy photos, but happy memories to look back on for years to come.

Liz Senior

When I show up to a Senior Session and meet a client for the first time, I never know what to expect as far as their comfort level posing and being in front of the camera. I always have some “go-to” poses and prompts to suggest to help give us both an idea of what is most natural for them and fits their personality. Even if I give the exact same instructions to different people, the result is usually very different. Liz looked natural and great in front of the camera no matter what I asked of her. I often kind of joke and say something like “Look off into the distance like you are just hanging out in the woods in your favorite clothes thinking about life”. When I look at the images from Liz’s session, she totally sells that and makes you believe that’s exactly what was happening and that me and my camera just happened to stumble across her. I love her cool, artistic vibe and think it definitely comes through in her photos. She would love to study illustration and creative writing so maybe she was thinking about what to create next? I think if that doesn’t work out she could have a future at modeling or acting though, don’t you?

2023 Trail For Treats

One of my favorite things about being a small business owner is being able to give back to the community that supports me and my little business. Opening the studio up in Oak Grove has been one of the best decisions I have made. I appreciate all of the support I have received so very much. I am so grateful for events like Trail For Treats that help me connect with the community and absolutely love offering free costume photos to everyone who stops by! It’s so much fun to see all of the great costumes and this year definitely didn’t disappoint!

The Myers Family

A lot of you may recognize this family and I’m willing to bet just as many of you consider them one of the sweetest families there is! “Dad” and I kind of run in the same circles so we cross paths on lots of occasions. We are both gym parents at Gage, he does some DJ’ing so we have worked weddings together, and he’s a police officer and I…..get into car accidents. 🤣

The beautiful location we chose for their photos is a popular spot and often full of photographers and their clients and I would be lying if I said I didn’t consider taking advantage of having an officer in uniform asking people to move out of my shot, but luckily we didn’t have too much trouble with people being in our way. The only really hard thing about this session was narrowing down which photos to share (so I didn’t really as you can tell).

***I would also like to add the disclaimer (In case Miss Armine happens to stumble across this post) that it was not my idea to stand on the fence post. IYKYK 🤣🤣🤣

Annie And Steven

This sweet couple lucked out and scheduled their engagement session for what turned out to be one of the last fall days of peak color before it got COLD! They chose perfect colors for their outfits that both complimented and stood out from the fall beauty and were troopers and ready and willing to get to the challenging “good spots” at this gorgeous location. I can’t wait to shoot their wedding next year!
