I love family sessions! This sweet mini session seriously took me back to when my littles were actually little. They were about the same distance apart in age as my daughter and son and just as I was thinking it didn’t seem like that long ago that I was taking photos of my own kids at this age, I noticed that this darling little girl had the same boots on that my daughter wore in that very photos session! Kinda choked me up and also made me realize I would have never remembered those boots or so many other little details and memories if it weren’t for photos. What a great reminder for how important the work I do is! I hope this family cherishes these photos for many years to come!

Finally sharing these beautiful images from my last session of 2019. They make me antsy to get back to shooting in the great outdoors! Spring sessions are starting to make their way onto my schedule though so in the meantime i will just relive the memories of shooting this fun extended family session at Burr Oak Woods.

I had the pleasure and honor of shooting lots of sessions for friends this year and I love seeing them all together hanging out as a family. Families are so busy in this day and age that it is usually a rare thing to have everyone all in one place at the same time. It has also become abundantly clear that I know some really beautiful people! This family is not only beautiful on the outside, but also clearly just as beautiful on the inside. This was such a great session to wrap up the year!

This session was all about friends for me. The family is a part of our “gymnastics family” as our girls train over 30 hours a week together at Gage which means we spend a lot of time together watching them work hard at practice and traveling to meets together all over the country. Also, this beautiful location belongs to another wonderful friend of mine who is nice enough to let me use her beautiful home occasionally for sessions.

I had fun walking around this beautiful property with friends and hunting for good spots to capture these images of their beautiful family. Our only regret was not including thier sweet little pup; Piper. Next time!
