Blue Springs, Mo Family Photographer: The D Family

I first met little Graham when he was only weeks old and have been lucky enough to visit with him every few months since. When I walked up to his family for this session he greeted me with a huge, adorable smile like we were best friends. Although he’s such a sweetie that I would imagine everyone gets this type of greeting from him, I like to think that he remembers me and enjoys our sessions as much as I do. This time was extra special because instead of mommy and daddy making funny noises and faces behind me, they were in the photos too. That meant more jumping around and funny noises and faces from me…which isn’t the easiest to do when you also have to catch those smiles on camera (in focus) but we made it work. 🙂

Blue Springs, Mo Child and Family Photographer: The L family

Sometimes everything goes exactly as planned for a session. This wasn’t one of those times but after one reschedule due to weather, one last minute change of location because the one we planned on using just wasn’t pretty right now and one two year old that wasn’t sure she wanted to do this anyway…(I obviously convinced her otherwise) I think it worked out pretty well. I was reminded of one of the reasons I blog about each session. When you look at great photos I think it’s easy to assume that everything went perfectly for the session and everyone was happy to smile for the camera for an hour straight. In truth, that’s RARELY the case. But if you know how to capture just the right moments it doesn’t really matter (and having an adorable family like this one doesn’t hurt).

Blue Springs, Mo Family Photographer: A,S and H

I did a fun “Mommy and Me” session for little Haddley and her mommy this summer and she was a doll! I knew this would be a great family session too. I keep thinking “this will probably be the last session with pretty fall colors and great weather” but seem to keep squeezing a few more in. This location probably looks familiar because I have been using a lot lately. It’s beautiful colors and great scenery make it a perfect spot…and unfortunately I’m not the only one that realizes this. We had to wait in line at several of my favorite spots here because there were so many other photographers out and about trying to squeeze in a few more fall sessions too, but it’s always worth the wait.

Blue Springs, Mo Family Photographer: Silas and family

When I first met Silas, he was just a bump in mommy’s belly at her maternity session. Then I got to hang out with him again when he was only a few days old. When his mommy contacted me about a family session and told me he was 9 months old I couldn’t believe it! How did this happen? It’s been a very busy year for both my family and my business and time has flown by. Little ones have a way of showing us just how much time! Luckily he is going to be a big brother soon so I will be seeing him, his beautiful baby blues and his family more often.

Blue Springs, Mo Couples Photographer: D&S

It is so hard to believe it’s been over a year since Daniel and Stephanie’s engagement session. I remember it like it was yesterday…so much fun and SO HOT!! They are the cutest couple ever and just really nice people and so I was super excited when Stephanie contacted me about a session for their 1 year anniversary. Last time she provided an adorable mailbox that she painted to look like the one from the movie “Up” for the session. This time she came with a chalkboard perfectly ready and they also came up with this PERFECT location. Dream clients! Anyone recognize where this session was shot?
