Blue Springs Engagement Photographer: H&M at Loose Park

What a great spring engagement session! I include engagement sessions with all of my wedding packages for many reasons. One of them is to get to know the couple a little more before the big day and help them feel more comfortable being in front of me and my camera. I already knew this bride-to-be because I also shot her High School Senior session (as well as her brother’s!) but it’s fairly common for me to not have a chance to really get to know the groom before the wedding without an engagement session and they are often the ones most uncomfortable in front of the camera. Let’s just say I don’t think I had to worry about that with this groom, but I AM glad I got to hang out with them for this super fun Loose Park engagement session. They are getting married at one of my favorite venues late this summer and I am so excited for them and to be a part of it!

Blue Springs, MO High School Senior Photographer: Ezekiel

What a wonderful Sunday! Church, brunch, and then the rest of the day was spent at High School Graduation parties! I saw many past High School Senior clients which was so fun! It also reminded me of this handsome guy who had not yet made the blog. Time to fix that! Ezekiel was another one of my High School Senior 911 sessions. We started off at the Marina but ended up moving to the High School and I’m glad we did. Seniors (especially guys) always seem so much more relaxed when they are in their element and I could tell his was the football field. Congratulations Ezekiel and Class of 2019!!!2019-05-19_0001.jpg

This lovely girl was my first ever High School Senior 911 Session. I kind of threw this idea together last minute after I started getting graduation party invites and started thinking about how I always get a few calls for last minute emergency Senior Sessions before graduation. I know how time flies when you have kiddos in school and it seems like the older they get the faster it goes so I can only imagine how fast graduation sneeks up on you and how it can be hard to fit everything in. So this year I thought I would set a day aside for some quick senior sessions for those that may not have had time, didn’t think they wanted/needed them until the last minute, or just didn’t get to them for whatever reason. I’m so glad I did because this lovely girl and her mama were a pleasure to work with and she was a natural in front of the camera. This will definitely become a yearly event!2019-05-12_0001.jpg

Kansas City, Mo High School Senior Photography Session- Hannah S

Hooray, it’s Spring!  For a photographer who primarily shoots outdoors, winter is kind of equal to a teacher’s summer…only colder.  I think every profession should have this “off” time.  It’s a great time to refresh, refuel, collect new ideas and inspiration and if you are lucky enough to be doing something you love, to MISS it and come back excited to be doing it again!  Hannah was my first outdoor session of the new year and I was so excited for her session, not only to be back out shooting but because it was a High School Senior Session which is one of my faves!  Most of my Senior sessions get scheduled in the fall and I am fortunate to have several of them every weekend for a month or two.  But every year there area a few last minute Spring Senior Sessions that trickle in and I am so happy that this beautiful girl was one of them this year!

Hannah is the President of Debate at her High School and also is very involved in public speaking and theater.  She is the lead in the spring play her Senior year!  For her Photo Session, she really just wanted to be her.  She wanted “natural” looking images and wanted to capture who she was at this time in her life…which I think is what every successful Senior Session should accomplish.  She loved colors and flowers in nature and we were lucky enough to have the perfect spring weekend for that!  I also LOVE that she brought an old poetry book to incorporate!

Congratulations Hannah and Class of 2019!

Wow! This was my first session of the New Year and if it’s any indication as to how 2019 will go…it’s going to be AMAZING! This was kind of a new type of session for me. This handsome guy does a little acting and needed some headshots for his agent. I have been wanting to try some “Tween Sessions” for a while now but hadn’t gotten the opportunity yet so I was really excited to do this and it was so much fun. High School Senior sessions are some of my favorites and this session was a lot like that, but with a younger kiddo…So. Much. Fun. And geez, he was an awesome model!
