Blue Springs, Mo Newborn Photographer: Baby Owen R

First of all I owe everyone an apology for keeping this little cutie all to myself. The blog got a little behind with the holidays, tax time, and just….life. He is SO worth the wait though, isn’t he? Owen is one of my “milestone” babies. I have been working with his mom and dad since their engagement session and many steps and milestones between then and his arrival. THAT is the best part of my job. Watching families grow and change and well…just become families. This is one lucky little boy.

Blue Springs, Mo. Newborn Photographer: Baby Tenley

Oh my goodness, what a beautiful little girl…and a beautiful family! Newborn sessions tend to take a long time and surprisingly most of that time is NOT taking photos. It’s a lot of snuggling (be jealous), holding and posing and A LOT of trying to get them into a deep, deep sleep. A lot of thoughts go through my head and during Tenley’s session I kept hearing the song “Fight Song”. I’m not sure I’ve ever seen a newborn be soooo close to a deep sleep and then suddenly spring their little eyes open for as long as she did. She just didn’t want to miss out on anything. She was so sweet and happy for all of her session, so I didn’t mind one bit.

Blue Springs, Mo. Newborn Photographer: Baby Brady

I fell a little bit in love with little Brady. He slept like an angel pretty much his entire session and even in between set-ups I would glance over at him and he was so sweet and peaceful and pretty much posing on his own that I got several shots without even having to work for them. Even my dog fell in love…he normally takes a quick peek at newborns when they arrive and then returns to his favorite spot to lay down for the rest of the session but he kept sneaking back in to check on Brady and eventually had to go to “time out” in my office. Once the session was over and Brady, like most newborns, wasn’t happy to go into his carseat and poor Buster got very concerned hearing him cry. After they left I got his leash to walk him and he almost drug me out the door trying to chase after his new little friend. Sorry, Buster…the only babies that will be coming into this house are “just visiting”.

Blue Springs, Mo Newborn Photographer: Owen

Little Owen was such a sweetie. His daddy is one of the trainers at 9 Round- the gym where I work out. I think he gave me almost as good of a workout as daddy does. At just a little over 2 weeks he wasn’t sure he wanted to sleep and when he did sleep, didn’t want to stay that way for too long. Luckily he was so laid back and calm when he was awake that we just went with it and I LOVE that he is showing off his pretty eyes and little newborn personality.
