Engagement sessions are always so much fun. I love capturing the beginning of a couple’s journey together. I tried to talk this couple into taking me with them to their Florida wedding as well, but am still awaiting my airline tickets. 😉 They said this was their first time having professional photos taken together, but if that is true I think they must have practiced at home before their session. They were naturals!
I LOVE engagement sessions and this one was no exception. Someone was really looking out for us because this session was scheduled for the beginning of February and somehow we ended up with a warm and sunny day. I think that is a good sign for their wedding day and their future together. Many years of happiness to them!
WARNING FELLOW PHOTOGRAPHERS! Prepare to be jealous! This awesome couple (and the bride’s wonderful family) not only provided me with TWO beautiful farms for their location, but they were complete with antique tractors, rolling bean fields, gorgeous barns, sunflowers blooming, hay bails…oh, and they had all kinds of barnwood and chalkboard signs prepared for me! Also, the sky was the perfect amount of overcast and then at the end of the session we were blessed with a beautiful sunset. I almost feel guilty taking any credit for how amazing their photos turned out…but I still will. 😉 Oh, and I can’t forget that they also sent me home with some delicious sweet corn that my family totally enjoyed. I am sooo excited for their fall wedding!
The weather played a huge role in this engagement session. When Brittany first contacted me it was starting to get cool out. We were thinking we might have to do them indoors. But then she started seeing all of the beautiful fall colors and leaves and she and her fiance, Charles decided they really wanted some pretty trees in them. Luckily it warmed up, but unfortunatley the leaves fell before their session and the wind came. Boy did it come! We ended up in Missouri Town because we needed buildings to block some of the wind and this turned into a happy accident because I think we found the last tree to lose it’s leaves so we even managed to get a little fall beauty in after all. They were such troopers hiking all over the place in the wind and laying on acorns for the perfect shot and I think it paid off!
