Gabby E ~ High School Senior

Not all that long ago, if a client would have suggested we do a High School Senior Session ENTIRELY INDOORS I would have definitely had an anxiety attack. The idea of having to master artificial lighting. Not having an interesting background setting, but instead having to create one. It was terrifying. Thankfully, the last couple of years I pushed myself out of my comfort zone and eventually felt confident enough with shooting indoors to open my studio! So when Gabby decided she loved the simple look of studio portraits for her Senior Photos, not only was I unafraid, but I was EXCITED and even recommended we use a second indoor location at the gym where she spends most of her days.

Of course it doesn’t hurt that she is such a beautiful girl which makes my job incredibly easy. She’s not just a pretty face though, although she is a “class of 2023” graduate, she actually finished up with school a semester early!!! She’s one smart cookie and also one of the sweetest girls you will ever meet. I know her future is so very bright and I can’t wait to see all that it holds for her.

If you were to ask me what the ingredients to a “perfect session” would be, I would say: perfect weather, beautiful background and colors, a client with their own amazing sense of style and one who can relax in front of the camera. In other words, I would describe Sienna’s High School Senior Session. This was one of those sessions where I felt like we were creating true art. She is such a sweet and beautiful girl and I wish her so much success in the future.

Lindsay~ Studio Cap and Gown

Cap and Gown Sessions are such a great way to make sure you capture every important moment of your senior year, but they can be hard to schedule since most seniors don’t get their caps and gowns until long after they have had their regular senior photo session. That’s one more thing that the having my studio comes in SO handy for! It’s easy to pop in for a mini session once your cap and gown have arrived!

Lindsay had a GORGEOUS downtown senior session and then came by the studio to have some fun with her cap and gown. I think I’m still finding random pieces of confetti. 🤣

Addi Spring Senior

This session was a little bittersweet. It was the last session of what I like to call “the four seasons of Addi”. Addi is a close friend of my daughter’s and like family really. It doesn’t seem like that long ago that she committed to Mizzou gymnastics, or that we started planning her four seasons of Senior Photos. And then just like that the final one came. That was this last spring and even though it’s winter now and she has already headed off to Mizzou and is getting ready to kick booty in her first season competing for them…it still doesn’t seem real that she could be in college. We sure can’t wait to watch her shine though!

Addi, Winter Senior Session ~ Lee’s Summit, Missouri

Here it is.  The Winter Session from what I am now referring to as “The Chronicles of Addi Jane”.  Ha!  I like to call this Session “The Cold Didn’t Bother Her Anyway”, which is a bit of a fib, but you wouldn’t know it by looking at these gorgeous photos.  It was a balmy 28 degrees out!  I have varying degrees of willingness to participate when it comes to seniors.  Some look at me like I’m crazy when I suggest they go near mud, bird poop, squat down (which creases sneakers and is a “no-no” for boys especially I have learned).  And then there’s Addi, jumping in streams in prom dresses, swinging from questionable branches, and testing her luck against frostbite.  I often find myself being the one asking “Are you sure this is a good idea?” at her sessions.  But the outcome always screams “YES”!
