It’s so hard to believe that it was 4 years ago when I took Faliene’s High School Senior photos and now she has graduated from Park University! There is a story that goes with both of these sessions that leads to me blaming Faliene for the death of our trees. 🤣 I occasionally barter to trade services with other small businesses when we need things done or provided for our home or family. We once had a beautiful tree in the front yard that suddenly died and needed removed. This was a sudden and costly expense that we were not excited about so I threw an offer out there in social media land offering to barter photography for the removal of the tree. Faliene’s dad reached out and I was so blessed to be able to do her senior photos (seriously BLESSED…she’s a rockstar model) AND get our dead tree removed. This spring our little Redbud tree never grew “red buds” (why are they called that when they are pink or purple? 🤔). I just thought it was just running a little behind. Oddly enough around the same time Faliene’s mom reached out for some College Grad and Family photos. I still had faith in the tree so didn’t even connect these events until we were at the session. By this time it was obvious the tree was dead so I mentioned it to dad and it quickly disappeared. I joked that every time Faliene graduates from something, a tree dies so she cannot go to Grad School because we don’t have many left. Anyway, this is such a great family and so fun to work with and I can’t wait to see the great things that the future holds for Faliene and hopefully work with them all again (but maybe after we move somewhere with more trees)!
