Jones Wedding

If there is anything positive about getting waaayyyy behind on this blog, it’s that I get to re-live and remember fun sessions and events like this gorgeous wedding from last spring! I absolutely loved all of the red and sparkles, which reminded me of my own wedding (way back when). They had such a gorgeous ceremony and fun reception. This was one to remember for sure.

Fall Family Session; Lake Jacomo

Another fun extended family session in the books.  My favorite part of family sessions is seeing everyone just enjoy their time together.  I always suggest they go out to eat together or do something fun afterwards.  I know how hard it can be to get everyone together these days!  I also love getting different combinations of people in the group to turn it into several sessions in one!  When there are littles involved like the cute little guy in this session, I am sure to notice when they have had enough and we let them do their own thing a little and come up with some ideas that just feel like we are having fun (but also happen to look good in photos).  😉

Every session has a story. With some it may seem obvious…an engagement session is two people who have been dating for a while and are going to get married soon. But there is always more to the story. How did they meet?, what do they do for fun?, are they both excited for their session or did she drag him there…or vice versa? There is always a story. Sometimes clients share their stories and sometimes details come out during their session. Either way I always leave a session feeling honored that I was given a peek into my clients’ lives and trusted to capture a significant moment for them. I will be the first to admit I have a pretty terrible short term memory. When shooting large groups or wedding parties, I often find myself forgetting names almost immediately after they are given to me. But I remember my clients and I remember their stories. This session was special in a lot of ways. It was taken just before Mother’s Day and was the perfect tribute to the love between a Mother and Daughter. Lots of hubby/wife love too. It’s one I will remember for sure and hopefully a family I will get to see again for sessions in the future. Oh and check out the beautiful dresses my client designed and made years ago! As someone who has zero talent in that department, I’m super impressed!

Here is another beautiful family that took advantage of my winter mini sessions! You would think two young children and two dogs would be a huge challenge when taking photos, but with this photogenic family it was surprisingly easy! I was so happy when they contacted me to get on my mini session schedule! I have been taking their family photos for a few years now and hadn’t seen them for a while and I absolutely love catching up with my regular clients and seeing how much their kiddos (and families) are growing!2018-01-22_0001.jpg

This family was a dream to photograph in every way. Each time we got to a new spot they just fell into place perfectly and were ready for me to start shooting away. Sometimes we would just be stopped somewhere talking and I would turn around to see these fantastic kiddos posed and waiting…so of course I obliged! So much fun and so much love in this great family and it shines through in their images for sure.2017-10-17_0001.jpg
