Every wedding I am asked to photograph is an honor and a privilege, but this one was extra special. It’s hard to believe this beautiful bride was the flower girl in my own wedding just a little over 20 years ago. I quickly learned that shooting a wedding for a beloved family member is a lot different than other weddings. There are a ton of special perks, like getting to be present for the entire day and see every little moment unfold, spending time with all of my family including my own kids who were in the wedding party, and of course the honor of capturing everything for my sweet niece. But there were also a few challenges too like trying to focus the camera through tears and getting caught up in the moments and then remembering I need to be pressing that shutter button too. It was a perfect day for a perfect couple and I can’t wait to watch their future together continue to unfold.
